I own several transfer dump trucks and two loaders. I heard of Maxilube at an ag show and decided to try some. The salesman treated one of my trucks and proved to me it works as advertised. The truck we tried it in is a '90 Peterbuilt with a 444 XT Cummins, Eaton 18 speed transmission with Eaton differentials. I was hauling an 80,000 lbs. gross load of rock across the scale to Hunnington Lake via Highway 168.
Being a brand new truck I really didn't think this stuff would do much, but to my surprise it lowered the engine transmission and both differential temperatures 25-40 degrees in each. I then bought 5 gallons and treated the other trucks and loaders and had the same basic results in all of them.
In August of 1994 the '90 Peterbuilt was working a ten wheeler job at Lombardo's at Pine Flat Lake and after starting back down the hill he called in and said the transmission was rattling and vibrating. Dispatch told him to check the temperature and he found everything normal, so he drove it on down to the shop in Sanger and checked it out. When he got there he found the oil cooler broken and the transmission was empty.
We fixed the cooler, filled the transmission with oil and drove the truck around the block. The rattle and vibrations were gone. The truck went back to work and has had no further repairs on the transmission since.
Based on experience in the business, we should have had to replace the transmission. Thank you for saving me thousands of dollars.
Sincerely happy,
